Why Reflexology?

To me, the core of reflexology is providing heartfelt care as you want to see your people at their best. Growing up I had the privilege

of watching both of my maternal and paternal grandparents love each other. Whenever I think of either couple, I have memories of people who loved each other deeply, tenderly, and fiercely. From dancing in the kitchen, making meals for large crowds on a whim, milking cows, checking fields, horse drawn sleigh rides, to gardening and everything in between, both couples worked as fluid teams. Both were true examples of what loving someone should look like, and both cared for each other deeply with the holistic resources they had. In those days, people didn’t just run to the doctor, they used as many home remedies as they knew to help keep each other healthy and functioning optimally.
My Grandma Neft was a Registered Nurse. She was always tending to her family and had all kinds of natural remedies. I remember homemade cough drops, onion slices for bee stings, hot water bottles for earaches, but most profoundly, I remember her using reflexology. My Grandpa Neft had a heart attack at the age of 66 and very poor heart functioning after that causing him to have almost daily attaches of angina (chest pain). When the angina came, he would sit in the recliner and grandma would “work” his feet. The chest pain would resolve, and he lived to the beautiful age of 95. A true testament of how reflexology impacts the body, provides relaxation, calming, and a rebalancing of the body systems.
I inherited the wooden stool my grandmother used daily to sit on while she “worked” my grandfather’s feet. Over the years, I have used this stool to provide amateur reflexology for my husband and kids. Many times, I would express how I would like to have official training. Then I finally decided I was going to do it, my girls had been listening to me talk about it for years. So, when I invited them to join me on this journey, they both jumped on the opportunity, and we did not look back.
The picture with this post is the actual stool of my grandmother’s. I think she would be happy to know the three of us are now using it to help others.
As you come to us for reflexology, you may be a friend, relative, or a stranger. Please know, when we provide your services, we strive to provide loving holistic care that has been passed down for generations. It brings us joy and peaceful energy to help bring your bodies back to balance through reflexology.
